Photocatalytic degradation of <scp><i>N</i></scp>‐nitrosodiethylamine from carbon capture plants using tungsten trioxide‐based catalysts: Parametric and optimization study

This study reports the synthesis and characterization of tungsten trioxide-based catalysts for photocatalytic degradation N-nitrosodiethylamine (NDEA) in wastewater. Tungsten trioxide (WO3) was synthesized using thermal treatment method (TTM) hard template replication (HTRM) impregnated with lanthanum (La), iron (Fe), chromium (Cr), silver (Ag) to enhance its light absorption ability. The were characterized various techniques, including UV-Vis spectroscopy, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET), Barrett–Joyner surface area porosity, X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). experimental design approach used a response methodology (RSM) face-centered central composite (FCCCD) technique. Catalyst loading (%), pH solution, catalyst concentration (g/L) chosen as factors, variable being NDEA efficiency (%). obtained data analyzed, quadratic model best fit statistically significant terms observed from variance (ANOVA). 3D interaction plots generated explain effect model. results showed that solution major factor affecting efficiency. mean 93.03% Fe/WO3, 88.90% Ag/WO3, 86.48% La/WO3, 84.03% Cr/WO3. These findings demonstrate potential metals effective wastewater through heterogeneous photocatalysis.
